This is one of the most important elements of the car because it is more responsible for safety than any electronic gadgets on board.
When changing a tire in a car, specialists take care not to damage this element. It is very important to use the right equipment, allowing you to safely and quickly remove old tires and replace them with new ones. In a workshop, changing a tire in a car also involves its proper balancing. The whole process should look like this:
- removing valves;
- letting air out of a tire;
- prying the tire bead;
- placing the rim on the machine;
- photo of balancing weights;
- matching the mounting arm to the tire size;
- turning the tire bead upwards;
- installing a new valve.

Changing tires or wheels on your car yourself is only possible if you have the right equipment. However, you need to remember that it is also necessary to properly balance each tire. For this purpose, you need to use a special machine, which is only available in professional services. Many people also do not know, for example, how to recognize right/left tires. Although the answers to this and other questions can be found on the Internet, the number of doubts can be a bit overwhelming. Therefore, it is better to entrust tire replacement to specialists.
When to change tires?
Many drivers assume that winter tires should only be fitted when it snows. This is a false assumption, as proven by research conducted by the Technical University of Dresden. It shows that almost 60% of winter accidents are caused on dry roads by drivers who did not change to winter tires before the temperature dropped. Remembering that summer tires lose their elasticity and grip in low temperatures, it should be assumed that tires should be replaced as soon as the temperature drops below 7 degrees, even if there is no snowfall. We can return to summer tires when the temperature rises again.

What do you need to know about changing tires?
The vehicle's tires themselves should always be adapted to the weather conditions in order to guarantee maximum safety and also to ensure optimal driving dynamics or fuel consumption. This is why tires should be changed from summer to winter tires every six months.
Tread construction – what is worth knowing?
The tread is the part of the tire that makes contact with the road surface. And if you look at the different tires available on the market, you'll notice a wide variety of tread patterns.
Why are they so different? Because the tread pattern is a unique design that improves traction and handling in certain driving conditions. Like a detective story, you can recognize a tire brand by the tracks it leaves on the road.
Each tire tread consists of four components:
The ribs are a raised part of the tread pattern composed of tread blocks;
The grooves are deep channels that run circumferentially and laterally around the tire;
Tread blocks are raised rubber segments that make contact with the road surface;
Sipes are small, thin slots formed in the tread blocks.

SUMMER TIRE
This type of tire is ideal for driving on dry surfaces, in such conditions it has the best grip. On wet surfaces, the efficiency of the tire decreases. For your own safety, you need to keep your tires in good condition. A worn tire loses its efficiency and can become dangerous.
WINTER TIRE
Winter tires have the M+S marking (Mud + Snow) on the sidewall and a three-peak symbol with a snowflake inside. Sometimes it happens that the tire does not have the M+S marking, but only the snowflake symbol - this also means that the tire is designed for the winter season.

ALL-SEASON TIRE
All-season tires are a compromise between summer tires and winter tires. The advantage of all-season tires is mainly that we can use these tires all year round and not change them and pay twice for tire replacement.
Tire size
What does tire size mean? Car tire sizes are specified by a series of numbers and letters. This data is located on the side of the tire. They present the following:
- tire width
- tire profile height
- diameter of the rim used
- Tire type
- indexes: load capacity and speed
The key data in the context of size is the height of the tire and its width. Their matching is crucial for the driving characteristics of the car.
How to calculate replacement size?
The size of the replacements is based on a comparison of the outside diameters of the reference tire and the suggested replacement tire. If the difference is between +1.5% and -2%, the tire can be used as a replacement for the original tire.
